The atmosphere here balances between casual and curated, a harmonious blend of everyday familiarity with subtle nods to heritage. It’s the kind of spot where locals settle in for conversations over breakfast, their voices blending with the clink of cups and the soft hiss of steaming kettles. There’s a gentleness in the pace, a shared appreciation for simple, thoughtful preparation that shows in every detail.
Good Morning Nanyang Cafe draws quietly on its roots, framing traditional flavors against a backdrop of familiar comfort. The signature toasts—crisply toasted with an inviting fragrance that hints at house-made kaya—complement the smooth, mellow kopis served here. The toasts and coffee here are excellent! The soft-boiled eggs were cooked to perfection, and the mee siam was delicious too! If I have the chance to be around this area in the morning again, I’ll definitely come back for breakfast

Who knew Italian bread and fragrant kaya jam could go so well together? The kaya is rich and smells so good.

Good Morning Nanyang Cafe serves satisfying coffee with a smooth, comforting flavour that pairs perfectly with their lightly toasted, crisp kaya (a kind of coconut paste) toasts. The toasts are fluffy inside with a fragrant kaya spread, making breakfast a simple, delicious delight—hidden in plain sight, it’s a gem only locals usually discover.

My all time favourite cafe! The ciabatta toast is aromatic, crisp and fresh! Additionally, their local delights are commendable. Truly a gem located on Orchard Road.

This cafe had been one of my frequent and favourite haunts when I was working nearby 13 years ago. Together with my colleagues, we would come by for lunch. For me, I would always come for the distinctive orange ciabatta toast (with a generous layer of kaya and butter spread, the Kaya is house made, delicately fragranced and sweetened). Was pampered by their good quality and special toast for about 3 years. Came today after 10 years and the orange ciabatta toast is still as good as 13 years ago. So happy to see that the cafe is still operated by the same lady boss and that her elderly dad is still fit and mobile and helping out in the cafe. May small-scale cafes like this continue to thrive and preserve their own distinctiveness.

Seriously, this is the best local coffee, egg, and toast I have had in a while. A true local breakfast gem. Fresh kaya, perfectly toasted bread which is light and crisp – a must-try. The mee siam here is delicious too.
